Plätzchen is a cookie company that originated in Germany and is now sold all over the world. It is inspired by my childhood memories of baking traditional German Christmas cookies with my family during the holiday season. Each recipe reflects the warmth, tradition, and togetherness that filled our kitchen every Christmas, bringing those special moments to homes everywhere.
Problem
Traditional German Christmas cookies are often only enjoyed seasonally and mostly within Germany. Many people around the world don’t have access to authentic recipes or the cultural experience behind them. The emotional warmth and family traditions tied to these cookies are often lost in mass-produced holiday treats.
Solution
Plätzchen brings authentic German Christmas cookies to a global audience while preserving tradition and nostalgia. The brand uses reusable metal tin cookie boxes inspired by Christmas German holiday packaging, encouraging customers to repurpose them for their own baked goods. This reduces waste while extending the life of the brand.
